A Fulfilled Lunar New Year campaign for 100 pediatric cancer patients and providing 500 nutritious meals at the hospital with The Sharing Kitchen
In Vietnam, it is estimated that each year, about 1,800 to 2,300 children under 16 years old will be diagnosed with cancer. Among them, the proportion of children’s families in difficult circumstances accounts for more than 50% and they cannot afford to pay for the hospital bill. Some children have given up treatment when they have only received the first prescription. For them, the biggest hope is to quickly get healthy, have fun with their friends, and most of all, continue getting their unfinished dreams.
Currently, the Children’s Hospital 2 and the Children’s Hospital 3 (also known as the City Children’s Hospital) are receiving more than 700 cancer cases in children. Most of them have to stay for inpatient treatment, at least for 2-3 years. There are times when during Tet, some children have to stay at the hospital for treatment. Receiving lucky money with a red envelope and wearing clothes are also difficult to do.
Understanding that, The Sharing Kitchen (locally named “Bep Se Chia”) has organized donations, mobilized sponsors to contribute and successfully called for the “Tet am no” campaign to provide nutritious meals, sets of Ao dai and medical support for pediatric cancer patients.
Pure love and hopes from the innocent eyes
During more than 14 days of launching the campaign, The Sharing Kitchen received 1,000 donations from sponsors, with a total donation amount reaching the target of more than 52,500,000 VND. With this money, The Sharing Kitchen used to support 500 nutritious meals, support medical care and give 100 sets of Ao dai at the Children’s Hospital 2 and the City Children’s Hospital on January 31 and February 01, 2024.

For us, this is a small journey, but everyone is aiming for the same spirit, a common goal is to bring children a closer and loving Tet atmosphere. Every gift given is a smile, trust and happiness received. Looking back at the journey of “Tet am no '' ~”A Fulfilled Lunar New Year”, The Sharing Kitchen sincerely thank and appreciate those who gave their hearts without expectation so that they can have a Tet full of love and fulfillment.
